Lasting Performance
- Winding Process – Step 1 /
Data Collection & Record Keeping
We begin by capturing nameplate data, connection schemes, and original winding specs. These are saved in our historical database (with entries dating back decades).
- Winding Process – Step 2 /
Core Loss Testing
Before stripping, we test the iron core’s integrity using modern core-loss testing tools and thermal imaging. We repeat this test after stripping to detect any degradation and make repairs if needed.
- Winding Process – Step 3 /
Burn-Out
Stators are placed in our Bayco burn-out oven, heated precisely (≈ 700 °C) to remove varnish and insulation, allowing for cleaner stripping and preparation.
- Winding Process – Step 4 /
Prepping and Insulation
We steam-clean the stripped core, apply electrical insulating varnish (after any repairs), and insulate stator slots using Nomex paper suited to the application.
- Winding Process – Step 5 /
Winding
Coils are rewound with Ultrashield inverter-duty wire for durability, connections brazed with silver-copper alloy for strength, and every winding is securely tied, insulated, and surge-tested to ensure balance and reliability.
- Winding Process Step 6 /
Dip & Bake
We immerse the windings in a tank of insulating varnish, then cure in our Steelman oven (controlled to ~300 °C) for a consistent, durable finish.
- Winding Process Step 7 /
Final Testing & Finishing
We steam-clean the stripped core, apply electrical insulating varnish (after any repairs), and insulate stator slots using Nomex paper suited to the application.
